Joomla
This guide outlines the step-by-step process for embedding SiteCockpit code into an active Joomla 3 template. The integration takes place directly in the index.php file of the template and requires administrator access to the Joomla backend.
- Access the Control Panel
- Navigate to Templates
- Identify the Active Template
- Open Template Files
- Insert the Embed Code
- Save Changes and Close the File
Access the Control Panel
After successfully logging into the Joomla backend, you will be directed to the Control Panel.
From here, all necessary configuration and extension options are accessible.
Navigate to Templates
In the top menu of the backend, select:
“Extensions” → “Templates” → “Templates”
This section displays all installed templates of your website.
Identify the Active Template
In the overview, the currently used template is marked with a yellow star icon.
Click on the name of the template to open its detail view.
Open Template Files: Edit index.php
In the template detail view, select the “Template Files” tab and open the file: index.php
Insert the Embed Code
Scroll to the bottom of the file and insert the embed code immediately before the closing </body> tag.
Save Changes and Close the File
Once the code is inserted, use the top-left buttons to:
- Click “Save” – to apply the changes
- Click “Save & Close” – to return to the template overview
